LEGO Christmas Story resources

The LEGO Christmas Story video was created by Joshua Whitehouse for Go Chatter Videos when he was just 17. We interviewed Joshua to find out the story behind the story and this is what he said:

‘A lot of people know roughly what the Christmas story is but might not know the true meaning behind it. The way that humans have lived our lives has drawn a wedge between us and God. Amazingly, God came down to earth on a rescue mission. We feel that it’s important to get the true message of Christmas out in an accessible way that people can engage with and understand. LEGO has been an amazing way to do that.’

As you watch the LEGO Christmas video Josh produced, bear in mind that it takes him half an hour to animate 1 second of footage. We’ll leave you to do the maths on what that means for a film that is 3 minutes and 58 seconds long!

Christmas story trail in The Entertainer toyshops

The LEGO Christmas Story is also helping us to make the story of Christmas accessible to people through a story trail hosted by Entertainer toyshops.

Mary, Joseph, Jesus, the shepherds and wise men have got lost in Entertainer toyshops. Can you help find them? To take part in the LEGO Christmas story trail, visit an Entertainer toyshop during November and December to search for the five LEGO story character cards.

When you find a story card, use your phone to scan the QR code and the character will tell you about their part in the Christmas story.

Christmas cards

You can share the LEGO Christmas story when you send Christmas cards to family and friends. We’ve used scenes from the LEGO Christmas Story film to create five cards that together tell the Christmas story. Each card also includes a QR code link so people can watch the film and find out how it was made.
