We have exciting news about the nursery school in Sifoe. We have recently received news of a new donor who wants to regularly give enough money to pay for a second teacher! This is such great news and the Sifoe committee are thrilled, as Kaddi has been coping with two school years by herself.

Now the class has been divided into two; the exisiting teacher, Kaddi, has one class in the small room and Kathryn (pictured right) has the younger pupils in the church part of the building. We went to visit them recently and it was very encouraging to see how they are progressing. Kathryn is a lovely lady who is also very involved in the local church, and she seems ideal for the job. The children were all in their school uniforms and were very happy to show us some of their work and to sing some songs for us it was a lovely morning.

The reverend asked us to pass on to you, the supporters of Sifoe, his sincere thanks for all that you are doing for the nursery and community.

The nursery school in Sifoe has been going for over a year now. The Methodist Mission (who run many schools in the country) oversee the running of the nursery, with SchoolForAll's main involvement being the facilitation of monies, including raising awareness of the need among our sponsors. School is held in the church building, although the committee hope that they will eventually be able to raise funds for purpose-built classrooms. Read here about how the school started  »
