WaterForAll aims to provide communities with access to clean reliable sources of water, and to educate on the necessity of clean drinking water for disease prevention.

To date we have been able to provide three cement-lined wells with hand pumps for the village of Sabi, the third of which has just been completed. We have also been able to pay for the repair of the school well, which had been out of use for more than one year.

Water is currently supplied to taps in the village streets via a solar-powered pump system, but these taps only work for a limited time each day, and there are often periods of some days when they don't work at all. This means people are reliant on traditional wells, which are not covered and therefore there is risk of disease if this water is drunk. The new wells we have been able to install mean people have access to a clean and reliable back-up supply of water, available 24 hours a day seven days a week.

We have worked in close co-operation with the local community, encouraging them to take ownership of the wells and be responsible for their ongoing maintenance.

We are also looking to be involved in water provision for gardens, enabling people to be able to grow their own fruit and vegetables to supplement their diet and generate income.
