Fatu Sowe spent over four years in Sabi in the role of community health nurse. For most of that time she rented a room on a local compound in the village, and patients would come and see her there. Patients did not have a great deal of privacy however, and so in 2007 the request was made for help so that she could have her own clinic/living quarters. This was built thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Joshua Group in Yapton, West Sussex. Situated in the centre of the village, the new building has an entrance/waiting area with two rooms opening off it. One is used as a bedroom, the other as a surgery/treatment room. More recently, the building has also been connected to an electricity supply. Fatu Sowe has recently left Sabi to take part in a course at the university. Her replacement, Doudou Sonko, is now living and working from the building.
