kev+janHopeForAll is run by Jan & Kev Roy and Hannah Sneller, YWAM volunteers living in The Gambia. Kev and Jan have been working overseas for 16 years, nine of these in The Gambia. They have four grown-up children who they homeschooled until sixth form and who are now living in the UK. It was originally Jan's vision to sponsor children in Sabi, and when Hannah arrived in 2001 the two of them worked together to get the project off the ground. Kev has been the team leader since 1998 and oversees the WaterForAll projects.

hannahHannah has been heavily involved in our translation project over the last few years, as well as SchoolForAll administration and design work. Kev, Jan and Hannah moved to the coastal area of The Gambia in 2007, after many years living up-country in the village of Sabi.

Our SchoolForAll coordinator on the ground in Gambia, liaising between schools and students on our behalf, is Erbima Y Bojang. We first met Ebrima in 2001 when he was the headmaster of the Upper Basic School in Sabi, and were impressed by the way he had the students' interests at heart. He is currently in the final year of an economics degree at the University of Gambia.

jannehMr Janneh is the present headteacher of the Upper Basic School. We work closely with him in aiming to enable the students to have the best educational opportunities available, and he has been a great help to us in our administration. He is also presently doing a short course at the university, which means he is running his school from 400 km away!!

fatu soweFatu Sowe has been the community nurse in Sabi for the past four years. She has worked tirelessly to help people in Sabi and the surrounding villages cope with sickness and also to try to avoid the many debilitating diseases by taking measures such as using malaria nets, eating a better diet etc. She is now taking a university course to widen her knowledge and gain more insights into health issues.
